Cancer is something that has run in my family for generations, and I knew that one day I might have to face breast cancer because it’s something that my mother and her mother had. I’m the only female child in my family, and I was always terrified of losing my breasts to cancer. After going to the doctor and finding out that I had a very high chance of contracting cancer, I chose to have both of my breasts removed. I was very depressed over the decision, but I wanted to live, and I already had two older children, so I didn’t have to worry about breastfeeding.
The problem with removing my breasts is that I had to get implants, and the first surgeon I had was awful. Although he did my breast reconstruction surgery, it looked like one big breast, instead of two single breasts. I was embarrassed by the procedure, and I even threatened to sue the plastic surgeon. I know that I needed to fix the problem, but it took me several years and a lot of pain to finally find Dr. Jennifer Walden. I wasn’t going to make the same mistake and pick another plastic surgeon because they seemed good; I wanted a reputable surgeon.
Dr. Walden is reputable, and she’s the best surgeon when it comes to plastic surgery on a female’s body. I’m not certain what she does for men, but I’ve heard some amazing stories of what she’s done for women. I had to go and meet with Dr. Walden, and I started crying when I told her about my entire journey with my breast problems. I let her know that I just wanted to look normal again, and I was hoping that she could help me. Dr. Walden pointed out the problem areas in my breasts, and she said she believed she could fix it.
I had the surgery performed, and I was bandaged up for a while, so I wasn’t certain what the final results were. After time had passed, I had to go back to Dr. Walden to take the bandages off and see what my breasts look like. The first time I went into Dr. Walden’s office in Austin, TX, I cried because of my botched plastic surgery, but this time I cried because my breasts looked perfect. I looked better with my new breasts than I did when I was a teenager! Dr. Walden did an amazing job.
